We read the statistics, watched the news and heard the call to action. We traded in our plastic shopping bags for reusable totes, some we purchased, others given to us as promotional gifts.
We quickly realized, however, that while a lot of attention was focused on eliminating the plastic grocery shopping bag there were entire categories of other plastic bags being ignored.
What about the reams of plastic produce bags still found throughout supermarkets?
And so we created 520-nm, named after the wavelength of green light. While sparked from one idea our mission is to help everyone see the green in every day by offering simple solutions for a healthy planet.
In developing our first product, the 520-nm Reusable Produce and Bulk Item Bag, we considered all aspects of what makes the plastic bag so simple yet effective from both the consumer’s and cashier’s perspectives. Our bags maintain all those features while using environmentally friendly materials, right down to the label.
We are located in San Francisco and are proud members of 1% for The Planet.
